This restaurant I absolutely awesomely amazing. If you're looking for somewhere with amazing food, uniquely-love able atmosphere, New York style cuisine with a hometown vibe, and a personable feel this place is where you want to eat tonight. What about what I just said doesn't sound like where you want to eat? Try the filet, the soup special, the salmon, the dirty martini (or try one of their other amazing drinks that I haven't had the pleasure to try yet because I'm sure it'll be amazing) everything I ate was amazing. Oh also anything with their pork belly.. Must try. Wowzers!! :) I live in Dallas now and when I come home to visit it's always depressing to think about all of the places there "aren't" to go eat at but Frappes .... I could eat here everyday I'm home:) amazing menu. Amazing chef with an amazing wife:) Okay that's all!:) thanks for reading my overly AWESOME review!!

The finest dining in Ormond Beach thanks to the culinary expertise of Chef Bobby and his lovely wife Meryl in operating and ensuring that food quality and service is top notch. The daily specials are always different and imaginative and the atmosphere is classic. Live music on Friday nights are entertaining but it is truly the food and the proprietors that make this restaurant special and unique. I won't rave about the menu because I could go on and on so you need to treat yourself to a truly delightful culinary and social experience.

Frappes North is an Ormond Beach institution. Bobby, an owner is an extremely talented chef. Meryl, his wife and partner runs the front of the house impeccably. Food is always excellent and service is perfect. I note that Yelp has this listed as closed. Untrue, very much open and healthy!

Went here with my wife last night for a date night. Walked in and was seated by the bar tender which I found to be a little odd. Order an appitzier which were the Parmesan shrimp they were good but a little over cooked and kind of chewy. My wife ordered the crispy duck which I tried a little of and I must say it was very good. I however ordered the veal which wasn't that great it felt like it was a frozen veal chop which I didn't expect for that kind if price. I sure wish I could've went back in the kitchen and looked to see what I was paying for. Service was so so . I may or may not go back and give it another chance.

Staff was amazing. The reserved a private room for a birthday party and everyone, including the owner, treated us like family.

Okay! For starters, when we entered the restaurant, no one was there to greet us...so we wandered all around the restaurant looking for someone. It turned out that the restaurant was pretty empty except for one other party of five and a few people at the bar. Finally, we ran into a server and she seated us. You know, I was thinking to myself that we had made a wrong decision and that the night was off to a bad start. But thankfully, things began to look up after we were seated. The server was fantastic, which was truly a plus after such a rocky start. We proceeded to place our orders with the server. After a while, the server returned to let me know that that the stuffed chicken breast that I had ordered was "sold out" and that I would need to order something else. I was quite disappointed because I had looked on the website earlier in the day and chosen that dish from the beautiful description of the entree. Nevertheless, I was forced to make another choice. I chose a chicken and shrimp dish with penne pasta. My huband chose Penne A La Vodka. Both dishes were fantastic with regard to flavor of the sauces and perfectly cooked pasta. But unfortunately, my husband's dish was lukewarm, which, understandably, was a big turn-off for him. Actually, the pasta in the center of his dish was lukewarm, while the pasta on the outer edges of the dish was cold. My dish, thankfully, was served at the proper temperature. My chicken was coated in a crispy bread crumb coating which may have been panko. It was delicious. Unfortunately, the chickn in my husband's dish was a bit dry. As other reveiwers have mentioned, the dipping sauce for the bread was delicious! I think for an average of approximately $20 per entree, I would expect the dish to be served at the proper temperature. I could tell that the flavors were great though. I would return to give it another try.

This was my first time here. I was excited to try it based on their website, but in the end i was disappointed. The the bread and dipping oil were amazing. My food (scallops and shrimp) was okay, but not really hot, or even warm and kind of bland. However, my bf loved his food. The atmosphere is really unique for this area, and I like that. The only problem for us was that the restaurant was virtually empty and they sat us at a small table for two that was essentially under the stairs and on a ramp so that our table and seats were slanted. I'm not sure why they would even put a table there, let alone seat someone there when the restaurant is not even close to half full, and would not be ever whole we were there. It really kind of spoiled the experience for me. It's very expensive, which I was prepared for, but I just expected more. The service was okay, a little slow and informal for the surroundings. Overall, I don't imagine I will go back.

I've seldom had a meal as good as this one. My wife and I went on a Wednesday for dinner. We were greeted by a hostess who seated us in a small dining area with 2 other couples. Fresh flowers and a white table cloth along with proper silverware were present. The waitress, Riley, promptly took our drink orders. She came back shortly and took our appetizer order and told us about that evening's special. Our appetizer, seared ahi tuna with black sesame seeds, grilled pineapple salsa and wasabi cream was skillfully prepared and presented. Very tasty. My wife had the chicken piccata which is one of her favorite meals. She said it was the best she ever had. I had the special of stuffed pork loin served with verts, mashed potatoes and stewed apples. Delicious. The owner/chef is very skillful. There is no salt or pepper on the table because of his proper seasoning and preparation. Riley was very attentive without being intrusive. The co-owner and chef's wife came by to check on us. Our bill was less than $70 including 2 drinks without tip. It was a wonderful dining experience and we highly recommend.

We love everything about Frappes, from the amazing bread dipping mixture which I feel should be bottled and sold...to the delicious salad, to the meal -which is always spot on. If that wasn't enough, the warmth of the owners that greet you and check on you throughout your meal can not be beat. Whether you are visiting or you are local it's with a regular visit. It's good for a great Friday night dinner or a special night out.

JUst went there for lunch and i wasn't impressed with the service and the soup of the day. My fish sandwich was great the chicken vegetable was soooo salty and just luke warm. The service well thats another story. Our server with loooong blond hair that was stuck to her black pants was a bit slow. Actually too slow. The table next to was picked out a long blond hair from their glass of water. They had the same server as us. I'm sure the food is good just the service really turned meoff considering I have worked the restaurant business for 20 yrs. So, I'm very patient yet critical.

The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Bobby and Meryl the owners came to the table and are just the nicest people, pretty good wine list and the specials were out of this world.

I didn't dislike my food but for the price I expected better. The herb oil you dip the bread in was wonderful, but the meal just alright. I liked the quirky building. I might give it a second chance. I saw an early bird menu, and I would be willing to gamble on the food if I didn't have to pay as much.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
